PISMO BEACH, CALIFORNIA JULY 2006 |
We took the Sharp Mastiffs, all 4 of them to the beach with us this year. We knew it would be pushing it but it really worked out well. We set up Ex Pens and rotated Tex and Clemie out of it with the pups, Eva and Penny holding down the fort. Clemie decided she didn't like puppy's chewing on her all the time so she chose to stay out in the sand. Each dog has their own personality and I think Tex had the most fun in the water...that's after he learned that the waves were not big sea monsters that were going to attack him while he walks in the surf. He actually enjoyed being out in the waves with the water crashing over him. Clemie was the same way, once she got out in the surf she even began to lean into the waves, it was really cute to see.. The pups on the other hand would have rather just stayed in their Ex Pen tearing up teddy bears and sleeping. They could take it or leave it...even though they went on a long morning walk at sunrise every morning to burn off some of their endless energy...that seemed to tucker them out for the rest of the day...boy, life at the beach is hard living!
We got to Pismo Beach actually, Oceano Dunes OHV Park on Sunday and found us some territory to stake out...we taped off an area big enough for the rest of our So Cal Bronco group about 20 Broncos strong that would be arriving starting Wednesday....we ended up with about 20 Bronco's and 40 plus people joining our camp. The weather was glorious, sunny every other day with temps in the high 60's to mid 70's. Dusty and I spent our days lounging in the sun and drinking various adult beverages and just watching the surf come in and people drive by....life is hard living 30 feet from the water for a week....we enjoyed out stay and really didn't want to head back to the I.E. to blazing temps over 100*. Again another year of great memories and wonderful relaxation spent with our doggies and each other. |
